Visible even by satellite, these sardine shoals travel in seething masses, stretching for up to fifteen kilometers in length, three and a half kilometers wide and up to forty meters deep. This is not only the sardines themselves, but also the feeding frenzy of birds, dolphins, sharks as well as whales. This type of diving is strenuous as dives are of fairly short duration, quickly back on the boat, follow the activity and jump back in again. Divers can also be dropped ahead of the action, waiting on the surface for the activity to reach them. Not for the faint hearted. Advanced Divers only. |
